MENTORSHIP: YOUTH EDUCATION
I have had some of the best experiences in my life teaching. My students have inspired me to not only keep going but to get excited about the process and the potential of creativity in improving the world.
Peace it together: Animation Mentor
This program brought together Israeli, Palestinian, and Canadian youth to dialogue and co-create films about the middle east conflict. It was one of the most intense and rewarding experiences I have ever had.
Emily Carr University: Intro to Motion sessional instructor
Had an opportunity to introduce foundation art students to the joys of making things move.
Gulf Island Film and Television School: Animation and VFX Mentor
In the time when you didn't have a complete film studio on your phone...this school was a trailblazer teaching participants to make films in a week in the middle of the lush BC forest. I met some of my favorite people in the world there. I was always amazed also at how many participants went on to make more films after their experience at G.I.F.T.S.
Access To Media Education: Animation Mentor
I worked on so many powerful programs here....Their mandate is to engage marginalized youth in personally and socially transformative storytelling practices. I was always amazed the passion and energy brought to the process of creativity.
